Astana wants Moscow to ease restrictions for Ukrainian transit
ASTANA, Jan 19 (PRIME) -- Astana wants to present Moscow with a list of companies, which can buy Ukrainian goods delivered to Kazakhstan through the Russian territory without restrictions, the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs said in a statement citing Deputy Chairwoman Dana Zhunusova on Tuesday.
“At present, we have developed a list of Kazakh companies which import Ukrainian goods with an indication of their contracts and the necessary supplies for 2016 in order to provide it to Russia’s Federal Customs Service,” she said.
Astana hopes that Russia will allow Ukrainian companies to transport these goods through its territory without convoying.
The bulk of Ukrainian goods on the list include agricultural goods, pharmaceuticals and machines, metals, products of construction and mining companies, as well as manufacturers.
Russia allowed Ukraine to export its goods to Kazakhstan through the Russian territory only from Belarus, introduced customs duties on Ukrainian products and an agricultural ban on import from the country from January 1.
Kiev plans to complain to the World Trade Organization (WTO) as it believes that the Russian actions contradict to WTO norms.
